About The Position

Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is hiring a skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer. The person in this position will, under general supervision, oversees the design, purchase, installation, and support of information security systems. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation requires evaluation and judgment. Responsible for evaluating current systems. Assists in the planning of large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.

Requirements

  • Requires detailed knowledge of cyber security systems, networks, and applications
  • Bachelor degree in related technical/business area plus 4 years of IT or business experience.
  • 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree (10 years of experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Industry Certifications (preferred, not required): Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) GIAC Security Engineer (GSE) or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Experience managing or integrating with Palo Alto Panorama for centralized firewall management.
  • Familiarity with next-generation firewalls, intrusion prevention, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) for security operations or configuration management.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust network architecture principles.
  • Exposure to endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Carbon Black.
  • Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset, comfortable working in cross-functional IT and compliance teams.
