About The Position

PALNG Turnaround Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and closing of complex, integrated maintenance shutdowns (turnarounds) at a liquefied natural gas facility to ensure safety, efficiency, and budget control. Key duties include developing detailed schedules, coordinating internal and external resources, managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and overseeing the safety program. This role requires extensive knowledge of LNG operations, project management, and outage management best practices.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 10 years of related experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of LNG operations, plant systems, safety regulations, and outage management best practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in planning, scheduling, and executing major plant turnarounds, with a preference for the oil and gas or LNG industry.
  • Familiarity with project management software like Primavera P6 and maintenance management systems like SAP is required.
  • Ability to make complex decisions based on evaluations of risk, safety, cost, and schedule.
  • A relevant degree in engineering or a related technical field is commonly required.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop integrated, resource-loaded schedules for all turnaround phases, from pre-turnaround planning to post-turnaround closure.
  • Budget Management: Oversee and control the turnaround budget, ensuring objectives for cost are met.
  • Safety and Compliance: Manage the turnaround safety program, ensuring work is executed in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Resource Coordination: Lead the integration of internal and external resources, including personnel, materials, equipment, and contractors.
  • Execution Oversight: Oversee the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance work scopes during the turnaround event.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with various departments (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement) and external stakeholders to develop plans and resolve issues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics, monitor progress against schedule baselines, and provide recommendations for improvement actions.
  • Contractor Management: Assist in developing bid packages and selecting contractors.
  • Small project identification and execution: Identify small projects with the Operations and Engineering teams, run project through gated approval process and if approved, plan and execute project.
  • Refine TAR workflow: Review TAR workflow identified in the Maintenance Work Management workflow, review, edit as needed for TAR planning and execution.
  • Identify Turnaround needs and contractors: Buildout Turnaround staffing needs, Contractor needs and special equipment needed, as well as identify TAR laydown areas and personnel areas due to space requirements.  This would also include transportation needs and parking of TAR workforce.
  • Equipment reviews: Sit in on equipment reviews for Phase 2 to better understand requirements and TAR schedule.
  • Maintenance backfill: Backfill as needed for Maintenance Execution Manager/Planning and Scheduling Manager as needed.
  • Major Equipment reviews: Sit in on equipment reviews as needed for Phase 2 to better understand requirements and TAR schedule.
  • Phase 1 Commissioning and Start up assistance: Provide an additional resource during the commissioning and start-up of Phase 1.
