About The Position

The Palm Court Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service in a high-volume bar environment. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of bar operations, including the preparation and serving of alcoholic beverages, and will be skilled in engaging with guests to enhance their experience. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and health standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and make change.
  • Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions and balance sheets.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife, pick up glassware, and mix drinks.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bartending work experience preferred.
  • Guest relations/service experience preferred.
  • Food Service Sanitation certification.
  • Alcohol Service permit (if state required).
  • CPR/1st Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily, including requisitioning and stocking of all necessary supplies.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily.
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks.
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Checks guests for proper identification and detects guest inebriation as trained.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws and adheres to all State, Federal, and Corporate regulations.
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for each guest.
  • Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, and ensures proper execution of vouchers.
  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food, and other equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures bank.
  • Attends mandatory meetings and performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
