About The Position

Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus 8111 S Emerson Ave Indianapolis, Indiana 46237 The Hospital Helper - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) offer support to the unit or department, which includes providing patient care, assisting other coworkers, restocking, admitting, discharging, and relieving staff for breaks. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Faith-based, Mission-focused Organization A didactic learning experience in a fast-paced environment Full-time day The Palliative care team assists hospitalized patients who are experiencing a chronic debilitating or life limiting illness. Palliative Nurse will provide holistic care for each individual: physical, psychosocial and spiritual. The goal of palliative care is to prevent and relieve suffering and to support the best possible quality of life for patients and their families regardless of the stage of the disease or the need for other therapies. Provide direct patient care, as necessary. Collaborate with patients and their families, (and or primary caregiver), as well as members of a multidisciplinary team, to ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhancement of the patient experience. Provide service to those we are privileged to serve, internal and external, via phone, electronic and in person. Enter patient information into the EHR system; uses EHR and other software systems for referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other duties. Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing / Patient Care
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State Licensing Board
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
  • A team-oriented RN willing to be flexible and dynamic in meeting patient care needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice and/or Palliative experience preferred
