About The Position
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Summary This position will ensure that the product is loaded on pallets, tied and slip sheets attached, placed into machine silos with a forklift and by hand in a manner consistent with safety, quality and production goals. This job is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all packaging equipment and personnel assigned to Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3. This job is responsible for working with the Packaging Supervisor and Packaging Area Coordinators to lead and manage the activities of the packaging department.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.
- Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting).
- Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and proper manner.
- Must be able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrels weighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling device.
- Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
- Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE, includes but not limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and face shield or goggles.
Responsibilities
- This position reports to the Dock Team Leader and Dock Supervisor.
- The individual in this position will accomplish these tasks by utilizing a team concept through working with team members and following direction and instructions from a team leader or manager.
- Work relationships and communications are key ingredients to the success of the individual holding this position.
- Overtime requirements in this position are common and may be required to meet operational goals.
