About The Position

The Palletizer Operator is responsible for producing pallets of product that are properly stacked, stretch wrapped, and ready to be stored in the warehouse. This role involves ensuring that the palletizing machines are running efficiently, troubleshooting any malfunctions, and maintaining communication with team members to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Experience running large machines.
• Fast-paced production experience preferred.
• Background in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Basic math skills, reading, writing, and computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Military experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the palletizing machines are running at all times.
• Troubleshoot all palletizer machine malfunctions and abnormalities in a timely manner.
• Inform maintenance of any repairs needed on equipment.
• Select appropriate palletizing patterns.
• Verify code date at each changeover.
• Notify forklift driver of changeovers.
• Ensure pallets are of acceptable quality and comply with QA standard guidelines.
• Check pallet pattern for each product.
• Verify that palletizer is set up for the correct bag size and pattern.
• Optimize stack patterns to minimize over-hang and eliminate product gaps.
• Coordinate material handling and maintain communication with forklift drivers.
• Change materials out as needed when changing products.
• Assist the manifestor in the LP process and cover the manifest station during breaks.
• Verify accuracy of LPs applied to pallets.
• Participate as a member of the team in ongoing development and communication.
• Attend appropriate team meetings and foster team cohesiveness.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
