MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Palletizer Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe handling, stacking, and movement of finished goods and raw materials within the facility. This position requires operating a forklift or a pallet jack, depending on environment while monitoring, and/or manually assisting automated palletizing machinery or manually building pallets. The operator ensures that products are properly prepared for storage, loading, and shipment, adhering to all safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and twist for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Lifting Capacity: Ability to manually lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours, including shifts, overtime, and weekends as required by production schedules.
  • Skills and Competencies Strong commitment to safety procedures and quality assurance protocols.
  • Excellent hand eye coordination and awareness for safe and efficient forklift operation.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting palletizer equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and safety documentation in English.
  • Attention to detail regarding stacking patterns, product counts, and inventory paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot automated palletizing equipment, including wrapping and labeling systems, ensuring continuous product flow.
  • Manually stack cases onto pallets according to specified patterns and quantity requirements, maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Inspect pallets for damage and ensure they meet safety and quality standards before use.
  • Verify product codes, quantities, and labels match work orders and quality specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around the palletizer and staging zones.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance checks and minor adjustments on the palletizing machine, reporting mechanical issues promptly.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move finished goods from the production line to the designated staging or storage areas.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
  • Retrieve and transport materials, and supplies from storage areas to palletizing.
  • Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklift and complete inspection logs.
  • Stack and organize finished goods and materials in the warehouse, utilizing vertical space efficiently while maintaining safe aisle clearances.
  • Adhere to strict material traceability and inventory control procedures.
  • Comply with all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Maintain current certification for forklift operation and demonstrate safe driving practices at all times.
  • Report all accidents, near-misses, and safety hazards immediately to a supervisor.
