While reporting to your supervisor, you will be responsible for palletizing and de-palletizing refrigerated dough cans in a quick and safe manner or working in a utility role on the can lines. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail. This position is in our Rigid Paper Products plant in beautiful Murfreesboro, Tennessee. We are producing refrigerated dough cans with a goal of increased shelf life for refrigerated items including but not limited to biscuits, cinnamon rolls, crescent rolls, and pizza dough. Requirements

• Previous experience in packing/warehousing is extremely helpful
• Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success
• You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment
• You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line
• You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed
• Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed and quality-focused is a must
• You will need to be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed
• Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success
• You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• You will need to be able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time
• You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
• You must be willing to work outside of regular shift hours including weekends if production or customer demands require it.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
• Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitoring and reporting quality of manufactured product
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new jobs and operate various palletizers/de-palletizers
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
• Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
• Helping other departments as needed
