The Pallet Sorting Machine Operator position at Rehrig Pacific is a critical role focused on the safe and efficient sorting of pallets using the SMETCO sorting machine. This position is part of the 2nd shift team and offers a competitive pay rate of $19 per hour. The operator will be responsible for adhering to strict safety protocols while conducting all job duties. The role requires the operator to sort pallets accurately based on manufacturer specifications, quality, and grade, which will be determined through both visual and hands-on inspection processes. In addition to machine operation, the role may involve manual sorting of pallets and the operation of a forklift, for which training and certification will be provided. The operator will also be expected to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, following the 'Clean as You Go' principle, and to perform good housekeeping practices throughout their shift. The position demands physical stamina, as the operator must be able to lift up to 70 lbs consistently and perform repetitive motions, including bending, twisting, and lifting. This is a production-based role, and the operator must meet minimum production and quality requirements as set by site leadership. The ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment is essential, as collaboration and communication are key components of the job. The operator may also be assigned additional duties as needed by site leadership, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the team.
