About The Position

The Pair Coordinator for READ Ottawa is a part-time role focused on enhancing the reading and language fluency of adults in Ottawa County. This position involves recruiting and enrolling adult learners, supervising tutor volunteers, and ensuring effective pairings between tutors and learners. The coordinator will maintain communication with all parties involved and manage necessary documentation, contributing to the overall success of the program as it expands in the Zeeland and Hudsonville areas.

Requirements

• Experience working with volunteers.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Google Suite applications.

• Experience using HubSpot.
• Bilingual (Spanish) would be helpful.

Responsibilities

• Interview and enroll potential adult learners.
• Supervise tutor volunteers and ensure effective pairings.
• Handle paperwork related to learner/tutor pairs.
• Maintain the READ Ottawa database and ensure data accuracy.
• Communicate regularly with tutor volunteers and address their needs.
• Work with the Training Coordinator to identify tutor needs and refer them to services.
• Ensure quarterly reports are submitted by tutors and recorded accurately.
• Participate in tutor training, learning circles, and workshops.
• Develop relationships with community partners and potential referral sources.
• Attend Board meetings to provide updates on programming.
