About The Position

Plan, organize, control and improve the materials management and production control function for the Paint Line Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years materials supervisor or manager experience required
  • Minimum 5 years Powder coating environment (other medias will be considered as well I.E. Wet Paint ETC.)
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of ERP, MRP and Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to Multitask as the need arises
  • Ability to make quick concise decisions as the need arises
  • Must be physically capable of standing/bending/stooping/squatting at any time to help line move.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or move up to 30 pounds on a given day, without assistance.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull material and equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to wear required safety equipment including gloves, safety shoes and safety glasses.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the flow of work for the paint line to ensure that all color changes are minimized while being as efficient with all upcoming orders
  • Directs flow of work for the paint Line to insure there are no late orders attributed to the paint line.
  • Performs routine audits to verify processes are being followed on the Paintline Line and Powder Coating Paint Booth.
  • Order all materials as needed for Paint Line areas. This includes all stocked and no stocked items.
  • Directs paint-line personnel on product hanging and painting.
  • Continually improves the paint-line processes
  • Identifies and corrects set-up processes.
  • Works closely with other production personal for daily requirements
  • Provides product training and information to paint-line employees.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Insures all preventive maintenance is accomplished per schedule to effectively run lines
  • Maintains adequate powder coating supply inventory, chemicals and spare parts for booths
  • Define the role and placement of each employee in the department, ensuring appropriate training.
  • Plan, organize and direct activities based on the production control schedule.
  • Keep track of filter changes, and monitor pressures across filters in powder equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust machine parameters as needed to manufacture product.
  • Assist Engineering in suggesting/implementing process improvements.
  • Conduct quality inspections of work.
  • Be able to effectively titrate, log and adjust any chemicals needed to maintain washer chemical parameters.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Establish, Communicate & maintain Quality & Environmental Policies & Objectives that are compatible with Strategic direction & Organizational Context. Promote Continual Improvement
  • Communicating importance of effective QMS & EMS ensuring these systems achieve intended Goals.
  • Assure regular QMS & EMS Planning: (Org. Context, Interested Parties’ needs & expectations, SWOT Analysis, ID Risks & Opportunities, EMS Aspects & Impacts, understand Compliance Obligations).
  • Assure integration of QMS & EMS requirements into daily business Processes & availability of needed Resources
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
