About The Position

Our Engineering Department is hiring and we want you to join our team at Horseshoe Bay! We are looking for a painting specialist to add to our Facilities Maintenance Team. The Painter will perform painting and finish work duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering, as well as acting as the engineer on duty (EOD) in a professional manner to assist guests in the guestrooms and internal customers' needs throughout the Resort. The ideal candidate should be able to handle day-to-day work challenges confidently and adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and evaluating critical guest rooms and Resort amenities issues to make logical decisions to solve problems.

Requirements

  • Proficient in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Pneumatic and Electronic Systems and Controls, Carpentry, Painting and Finish Skills, Kitchen Equipment, Vehicles, Energy Conservation or General Building.
  • Possess a valid Texas driver's license and satisfactory MVR for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to comprehend reading materials and communicate in English (speak, read, and write).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in residential or commercial painting.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Neat and clean overall appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests in guest rooms and all internal customers throughout the resort.
  • Handle daily work challenges confidently and adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • Evaluate critical guest room and resort amenity issues and make logical decisions to solve problems.
  • Perform plumbing tasks such as plunging toilets and unclogging drains.
  • Repair all types of hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment including lamps and air conditioners.
  • Replace electrical switches and outlets and program TVs and HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems and handle emergencies involving fire sprinkler and emergency power systems.
  • Observe energy and utilities usage in the Resort and report ideas for energy conservation to Engineering Management.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment in the resort, ensuring they are cleaned, lubricated, and stored properly.
  • Be available for emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates.
  • Strive to work in an accident-free manner and create a safe work environment.
  • Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units.
  • Maintain a thorough log of daily activities and problems, ensuring information is passed on to other shifts.
  • Clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management.
