About The Position

Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Painter for its Facilities Operations Department at the Germantown Campus. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a painter vocational or apprentice-level training program.
• Three years of experience in preparing surfaces for painting and wood finishing.
• Working knowledge of painting methods, tools, and safety precautions.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Receive work orders and assess job sites to determine the scope of work.
• Gather necessary materials and tools for painting jobs.
• Set up job sites by covering and moving furnishings, placing ladders, and constructing scaffolds.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including minor carpentry and plastering work.
• Install and repair drywall, remove wallpaper, and cover graffiti.
• Mix and match paints and finishes to achieve desired colors and effects.
• Apply finishes to furniture, walls, trim, and ceilings using various tools.
• Maintain inventory of paint supplies and records of paint codes.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in painting tasks.
• Assist other trades staff with minor tasks as needed.
