About The Position

The role of a painter is to help complete the work assigned to the Paint Shop. This includes a variety of tasks related to painting and maintaining surfaces in facilities, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Hold a valid Texas Driver's License and maintain a good driving record.
  • Knowledge of washing and cleaning materials and techniques.
  • Experience with painting techniques for various materials.
  • Ability to work with drywall surfaces, wall coverings, and various types of surfaces.
  • Knowledge of sand and water blasting techniques.
  • Ability to work with rigging and scaffolding.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to perform job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to acquire job-related licenses as required.
  • Experience in related shop work and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support board and administrative policies and decisions.
  • Maintain a professional work environment through a positive attitude, punctuality, regular attendance, personal appearance, and good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Conform to industry and shop standards of safety and report accidents on the job.
  • Inspect completed assignments to ensure satisfactory work quality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist the Supervisor in guiding, training, and providing technical assistance to other shop employees.
  • Initiate the purchase of supplies, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Prioritize schedules and activities to ensure the safety and efficiency of equipment.
  • Maintain and document color codes, formulations, and records of campuses.
  • Coordinate scheduling of work on campus with principals.
  • Keep all work areas clean and perform thorough clean-up after completing work.
