About The Position

The Painter position involves performing senior functions in the Paint Shop, including preparing and mixing paint, matching colors, and preparing surfaces for painting. The role also includes installing or replacing various types of tiles and performing general repairs as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares partition walls as per blueprints, applying tape, compound, and plaster as necessary.
• Applies vinyl, ceramic tile, paint, etc. to prepared walls; reconditions old ceilings.
• Paints new door bucks, finishes doors, and woodwork; prepares and paints cabinets and soffits.
• Dashes patch to level floors and makes transitions between floors of different heights.
• Installs and/or finishes floor materials such as vinyl tiles and ceramics.
• Uses paint solvents, thinners, and turpentine; paints signs by stencils or free-hand.
• Performs general repairs on walls, doors, ceilings, and floors as requested by the department head.
• Repairs floors, ceilings, and walls due to water, fire, and storm damage; performs emergency repairs.
• Assists in snow removal duty; demonstrates proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
• Maintains and handles tools in a safe and proper manner; takes responsibility for tools in possession.
