Painter Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industries is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
- Education – no minimum education requirements.
- Experience – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
- Certification/License : NCCER, a Valid Driver’s License, and a TWIC Card.
Responsibilities
- Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
- Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
- Work at heights with no fear.
- May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
- May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
- Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
- Other duties as assigned.
