About The Position

The candidate is responsible for the repair, maintenance, upkeep and replacement of the property's cosmetic materials (interior/exterior painting, patching of woodwork and furniture refinishing), in accordance with hotel standards. Will also assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply.
• Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.).
• Good basic math skills.
• Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Conscientious with great attention to detail.
• Must have flexible schedule and be able to work on weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced and customer service-orientated environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbal and written) in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a painter in residential property and/or hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Paint the interiors and exteriors of properties.
• Protect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping.
• Practice self-supervision on small jobs and ensure you complete each project in an efficient, timely manner.
• Match paint samples for touch-ups and other small projects.
• Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all property and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools, (i.e. brushes, rollers, paint sprayers, trays, ladders, scaffolds, etc.) and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas.
• Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements (OSHA).
