About The Position

Sets up and operates equipment to coat products with powder base paint.

Requirements

• Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
• Good troubleshooting skills such that after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals
• Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching
• Work with powder coat materials and cleaning chemicals
• Lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sets up powder coat and related equipment to exacting specifications and prepares equipment for production.
• Ensures that items are properly hung on conveyor hooks.
• Hangs and removes parts from hooks when parts are not available to powder coat.
• Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to, all guarding.
• Corrects any safety issue prior to operating the equipment.
• Inspects coated items for coverage and tests for coating thickness.
• Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments, as needed.
• Prepares parts for rework and applies powder to correct coating defects.
• Works from schedules and specifications.
• Assists and trains parts hangers in preparing and hanging parts for powder coat operation.
