About The Position

This Painter position is responsible for all aspects of painting metal, including set up, operation, inspection, and material handling activities. Painters are expected to work in a safe, productive, and cooperative manner in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands policies and procedures. The role involves ensuring adherence to quality standards for paint finishes, maintaining spray painting equipment, and strictly following safety procedures while wearing appropriate protective gear. Key responsibilities also include mixing, matching, and managing the inventory of paints, solvents, and other materials, as well as understanding and following manufacturing specifications and processes. The painter will be tasked with identifying and addressing issues related to the painting process, tracking daily usage of materials, and applying various finishes using a range of tools. Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
  • Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
  • Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact with people
  • Ability to perform extensive standing, frequent bending, sitting, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment, overhead crane, carts, dollies and some hand tools

  • Previous manufacturing and/or painting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of painting metal, including set up, operation, inspection, and material handling activities.

  • Inspect paint finishes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Clean and maintain spray painting equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.
  • Mix, match, and manage inventory of paints, solvents, and other materials.
  • Understand and follow manufacturing specifications and processes.
  • Identify and address issues related to the painting process.
  • Track daily usage of paints, thinners, and other solvents.
  • Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other tools.
  • Complete all tasks as assigned by department leadership.
