The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs. We’re hiring a Painter to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park! Job Summary: Prepares and paints all surfaces, assuring quality and durability. The Details: Position Type: Full-time Year-round Start Dates: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks) Pay: $21.65/hr Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why the Oasis at Death Valley? Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience preferred
- Working knowledge of safe operation and proper maintenance of hand and power tools
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level
- Ability to enter and work in crawl spaces and attics
- Must be able to withstand working in extreme temperatures
Responsibilities
- Perform all assignments requested assuring safety, quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness
- Protects all surfaces during preparation and painting, avoiding damage or additional works resulting from overspray, spills, drips, etc
- Applies latex, oil base, solvent base, mastic and epoxy coatings, ensuring highest quality and maximum durability
- Uses and maintains all paint equipment
- Tapes, textures, patches and repairs drywall
- Applies acoustic ceiling applications
- Mixes and blends paint
- Operates sand blasting equipment
- Work hours, shifts, overtime and on-call shifts, or other work as deemed necessary and/ or assigned by Director of Engineering
