Requirements

• Completion of Vocational course in Auto Body Repair or  2 years' experience working at  Auto Body Shop or Industrial Paint Shop.
• Ability to paint test plate and pass the orange peel criteria, no runs allowed.
• Must meet gloss level requirements.
• Adhesion test.

Responsibilities

• The ability and experience of performing all proper paint preparation on the different substrates of a rail vehicle.
• The ability and experience of applying coatings to all areas of a rail vehicle to meet company and customer requirements.
• The ability and experience to perform acceptable repairs on applied coatings (paint, fiberglass gel coat).
• The ability to train and oversee less experience painters to achieve all company and customer requirements.
• Ability to pass required respiratory testing to be able to wear required respiratory personal protective equipment
• Work in a safe manner compliant with all Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines
• Must be able to read blueprints and operate all required tools, equipment and machinery with nominal training and instruction for the application of decals and stencilling.
• Keep paint process records to include: coatings batch numbers and expiration dates, and spraying conditions- temperature and humidity.
