Union Painter – JLL What this job involves: We are seeking a skilled and reliable painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting various surfaces in a commercial setting. The ideal applicant should have a keen eye for detail, excellent color-matching skills, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. This position operates under the International Union of Operating Engineers: IUOE399 . What your day-to-day will look like:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a painter (apprenticeship may be considered)
  • Strong technical foundation in painting techniques, materials, and color theory, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or certification in painting
  • Experience with specialty finishes or decorative painting techniques
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standard

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer as needed
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Tape off and protect surrounding areas while filling cracks, holes, and joints with appropriate materials
  • Set up scaffolding, ladders, and safety equipment to access work areas at various heights
  • Estimate project time and materials while tracking progress using electronic devices and project management tools
  • Maintain painting tools and equipment in proper working condition between projects
  • Follow all safety protocols while keeping work areas clean, organized, and compliant with regulations
