About The Position

The Pro Mechanical - Painter plays a critical role in ensuring the aesthetic and protective finishes of mechanical equipment and structures meet the highest standards. This position involves preparing surfaces, selecting appropriate paints and coatings, and applying them with precision to enhance durability and appearance. The role requires a thorough understanding of various painting techniques and materials to accommodate different mechanical components and environmental conditions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with mechanical teams to schedule and execute painting tasks without disrupting operational workflows. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the longevity and safety of mechanical assets through expert surface treatment and finishing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a painter in a mechanical or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and paint application methods.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to painting and handling of hazardous materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with specialized coatings such as anti-corrosive or heat-resistant paints.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to operate spray painting equipment and related tools.
  • Completion of OSHA safety training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure proper paint adhesion.
  • Select and mix paints, coatings, and other materials according to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Apply paint and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to mechanical parts and structures.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as necessary to meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and maintenance teams to coordinate painting schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain painting equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
  • Document work performed and report any issues or material needs to supervisors.
