About The Position

Maintains ambiance of facility by patching, painting and installing/ repairing wall covering, as directed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience as a painter, required.
• Read, write and speak English to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions, prepares forms and work logs.
• Must be able to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift and move heavy materials and equipment weighing up to 100lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various surfaces for finishes, including plaster surfaces, masonry, wood, metal, plastics, etc.
• Mix and apply spackle or plaster to obtain smooth surfaces.Mix and apply cement to small areas, Use sanding equipment and other hand tools for finishing surfaces.
• Mix paint colors Have some knowledge of various types of paints and some understanding of applications of latex, vinyl, alkyds, oil based paints and other special paints such as epoxies.
• Uses brushes, rollers and various types of spray equipment efficiently and proficiently.
• Must be able to prepare, install and repair wall surfaces and various types of wall coverings as required.
• Spackle and tape sheetrock joints and install metal corner beads on sheetrock and plaster as assigned.
• Install rubber and metal corner guards, rubber and vinyl cove or straight base and other protective strips assigned.
• Use proper masking and correct solvents and mixing agents in preparing paints and other surface finish materials.
• Perform miscellaneous jobs as required including cleaning and rubbish removal, moving of equipment Etc
• Performs related duties as required.
