About The Position

GENERAL PURPOSE Painting on hotel premises. Knowledge of different products and proper applications for different surfaces. Experience with staining and Faux Finishes. Ability to hang and finish drywall to be ready for paint or wall covering. Ability to hang and repair vinyl wall covering. Ability to climb and work safely on ladders or scaffolding and in confined spaces Maintain the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and consistency keep updated records on file. Respond to all guest's requests in a timely and efficient manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for all painting inside and outside of hotel. Responsible for the Guest Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program. Respond or perform duties of a groundskeeper, handle and double check guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner. Maintain proper records of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and the Second Request Program. Complete work order request forms on a daily and timely basis. OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition. Inspect all public areas daily for burnt light bulbs. Participate in the hotel fire brigade. Maintain department pass-on log book as required. Travel - limited, local travel required to paint store. Hours: Scheduled days and times may vary based on need.

Requirements

• Knowledge General knowledge of technical fields such as carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.
• Requires excellent communication skills, a professional presentation, an ability to work in a team atmosphere and to make independent decisions.
• Excellent hearing required due to hazardous nature of working with mechanical equipment.
• Excellent vision required due to hazardous nature of working with mechanical equipment.
• Moderate speech communication skills necessary to communicate with guests, employees, etc.
• Moderate comprehension and literacy required to read logbooks, maintenance requests.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
• Mobility - due to need to be throughout hotel on a regular basis, mobility is a must.
• Driving of hotel vehicle required for picking up materials.
• Come into contact with various chemicals 2-3 times per week. (Regular chemicals: solvents, adhesives, paints).
• Protective clothing - back supports worn 100% of day; gloves worn approximately 70% of day.
• Equipment - hand tools, power tools and lifts and scaffolds.

• Hotel experience preferred, but not required.
