About The Position

As a Painter at Atlas Bolt & Screw Company LLC, you will be responsible for spray painting the heads of racked fasteners and matching paint for each order using formulas and visual matching with color chips. Your role will involve preparing paint, operating spray guns, and ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to see colors and make paint colors by mixing different colors and following formulas.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and determine paint colors needed.
• Select premade colors or mix required portions of oil, thinning, and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
• Prepare paint guns and spray fasteners with an even coat of paint, ensuring coverage on all sides of the fastener head.
• Achieve reasonable production rates and goals.
• Load painted fasteners on cart after completing painting.
• Move carts in and out of the oven when needed.
• Utilize dumping machine to bag painted fasteners.
• Accurately affix bag and box labels on painted product.
• Clean equipment in between colors.
• Track and maintain paint chips in an organized manner.
• Assist in workflow in immediate paint area when needed.
• Follow 5S procedures to maintain cleanliness of paint booths and work area.
