The Houston Airport System (HAS) Maintenance, Painter (Interior) position is a vital role responsible for delivering self-performed small construction and build back services at each of the three Houston Airport System Airports. This position reports directly to the Senior Project Manager, Small Construction and Build Back Services. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the facilities, equipment, structures, and utilities are constructed, installed, and maintained in a manner that maximizes value to our customers. The work performed in this position applies innovative and appropriate engineering and financial principles to achieve the best outcomes for the airport system. As a Painter, the individual will be tasked with reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments, identifying, preparing, and obtaining the required materials, supplies, and equipment to complete assignments. The role involves performing general painting, restoration, and refinishing techniques, including spray and brush painting, varnishing, priming, scraping, floating, and taping. Additionally, the Painter will be responsible for repairing damaged surfaces, mixing and blending paint to match colors, and maintaining a safe and clean work area. The position requires considerable physical exertion, including regular climbing of ladders, lifting heavy objects (up to 80 pounds), and working in various environmental conditions, which may include exposure to heat, cold, moisture, and air pollution. Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain federally mandated security clearances where required. The position may also involve working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in painting and restoration, with a focus on safety and quality in all tasks performed.
