The Painter performs all phases of painting. This is position is located in Stennis Space Center. Work Model: Onsite

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a strong background in all Phases of painting.
  • Must pass Asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed.
  • Tape & float, sand, texture.
  • Use of joint compounds, quick set.
  • Painting with brushes (cut-in) and rollers.
  • Layout & placing of floor tile, cove base.
  • Knowledge of latex, oil base & epoxy paints.
  • Stain & lacquers doors and cabinets.
  • Mix & match colors and textures
  • Work off scaffolds and ladders at various elevations.
  • Use airless spraying.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations.
  • Paint booth experience helpful.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction.
  • Ability to operate and service various rotating equipment.
  • Ability to work with computers.
  • Ability to work independently but follow specific detailed instructions.
  • Ability to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team- oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Paint walls, equipment, buildings, bridges, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  • May remove old paint to prepare surface prior to painting.
  • May mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.
  • All other duties as assigned.
