About The Position

The job involves painting walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. The role may also include removing old paint to prepare surfaces prior to painting. The position guarantees 40 hours of work per week, structured as 4-10 hour days, allowing for 3-day weekends. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years' experience in painting or a related field.
  • Ability to make fast, simple repeated movements of the fingers, hand, and wrist.
  • Ability to keep hand and arm steady while moving or holding in one position.
  • Proficient use of all tools or equipment needed on the job.
  • Ability to perform work that meets PruittHealth's quality standards.
  • Ability to follow safety standards of the company and Health Care Centers.
  • Demonstrate good workmanship in a neat and timely manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within the limits of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Apply paint to building and other structures using a brush, roller, or spray gun.
  • Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect them during painting.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers.
  • Remove fixtures such as doorknobs and switch covers prior to painting.
  • Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, and wire brushing.
  • Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, and steel wool.
  • Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to work above ground level.
  • Assist in center/agency surveys and any subsequently required reports.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to maintain current license/certification.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
  • Honor patients/residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights.
  • Comply with corporate compliance program.
  • Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards.
  • Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection & prevention, smoking regulations, and infection control.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.
