Summary Coordinates and controls special painting projects under direct supervision of Painting supervisor and or Engineering manager. Maintains inventory of paint and painting supplies, framing and drywall stucco installation repair and texturing to match adjacent surfaces. Brushes or sprays paint to cover scratches, chips or repairs to painted surfaces, to include walls, floors, walkways, cabinets, doors or shelves. Promotes and follows LJBTC Inc. signature service and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares surfaces for painting by protecting trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings.
  • Set up and maintain proper ventilation and safety equipment to protect Painters from hazardous fumes.
  • Prepares surfaces by washing, filling holes and cracks, and sanding to ensure smooth, paint-ready finishes.
  • Applies primers and sealers to ensure proper adhesion and durability of paint-ready finishes.
  • Mixes and matches paint, stains and finishes according to project specifications.
  • Applies paint, stains and finishes using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers.
  • Maintains and manages inventory of supplies, including paint brushes, rollers and tarps.
  • Removes old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or blowtorches.
  • Estimates project timeline and material requirements for painting projects.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.
  • Reviews and implements work orders and job assignments appropriately.
  • Remove and reinstall fixtures such as, doorknobs and electric switch covers as necessary.
  • Adheres to all safety standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates effective time management to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Works collaboratively as a team member while maintaining clear and professional communication.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
