The Paint Department Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the paint shop, ensuring high-quality output, efficient production, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves guiding team members, coordinating workflow, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and guide paint shop employees, ensuring consistent quality assurance across all tasks and document the results.
  • Plan manpower requirements and assign personnel to meet production schedules effectively.
  • Assist in setting up and optimizing production methods and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Recommend and help implement new or improved painting techniques and production methods.
  • Ensure availability of necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of paint and cleaning product usage.
  • Support staff in achieving high standards of workmanship and product quality.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Document process through writing of SOPs.
  • Implement and maintain daily process management boards.
  • Implement and maintain a 5S culture.
  • Report all safety concerns to EHS or Plant manager.
  • Familiarity with PSX700 paint products is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing or paint shop environment.
