About The Position

This position is responsible for the cleaning and advanced painted finish of critical components. The essential duties include maintaining a clean and safe work environment, mixing paint as specified by company guidelines, determining proper paint consistency, color, and coat thickness, and using proper PPE at all times. The role requires identifying parts and determining the appropriate coating process, reading and completing work orders and QC documentation, assisting with quotes, operating fork lift/hoist/crane, and reading complex production drawings. The employee must respond to changing production demands, hang and fasten parts, mask off areas that require no paint coverage, and use various tools and equipment. The position also involves ensuring quality standards are met and effectively communicating with other departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Mix paint as specified by company guidelines.
  • Determine proper paint consistency, color, and coat thickness.
  • Identify parts and determine the appropriate required coating process.
  • Read and complete work orders and QC documentation.
  • Assist with quotes when needed.
  • Operate fork lift/hoist/crane.
  • Read and interpret complex production drawings.
  • Respond to changing production demands to support product flow.
  • Hang and fasten parts as required.
  • Mask off areas that require no paint coverage.
  • Use jigs, fixtures, and other assembly devices.
  • Use electrical and air powered hand tools.
  • Use and maintain spray painting equipment and power washing systems.
  • Meet all quality standards per engineering specifications, ISO, and OSHA requirements.
  • Work at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Ensure proper storage and usage of hazardous and flammable materials.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding completed parts or product.
  • Execute and support the quality system and procedures for continuous improvement.
