About The Position

THE PAINTER I IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING WITH THE APPLICATION OF PAINTS TO THE EXTERIOR OF PIPES, FOLLOWING COMPANY GUIDELINES AND SAFETY REGULATIONS. THIS ENTRY-LEVEL ROLE INVOLVES BASIC PAINTING TASKS UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION, ENSURING WORK MEETS QUALITY STANDARDS AND CUSTOMER SPECIFICATIONS AS OUTLINED IN WORK ORDERS.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of a diploma or GED.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to follow written or oral instructions and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols and procedures (e.g., constant use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE))
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Capability to bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods as required by job tasks.
  • Ability to maintain balance and coordination in various work environments, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity to handle painting tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or familiarity with basic painting techniques in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of various painting tools and equipment, such as spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
  • Willingness to learn about different paint types, application methods, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and methods in the painting industry.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early or late hours, weekends, or overtime as needed.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing surfaces of pipes and column tubes for painting by cleaning and basic sanding.
  • Apply paints using spray guns, brushes, or rollers under supervision, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes.
  • Monitor drying times and environmental conditions with guidance to optimize paint adhesion and finish quality.
  • Report any defects or imperfections observed during the painting process to a more experienced painter or supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment with direction.
  • Understand and follow PPE protocols based on paint product Safety Data Sheet(SDS). Perform other duties as assigned by any lead, supervisor, manager or other leader.
