About The Position

In this job you will prepare surfaces and apply a variety of coatings to obtain high quality and primer finishes using paint booth and spray equipment. As a Painter I you will: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning and masking Check and prepare paint for use in spray equipment Maintain and adjust spray guns and associated equipment to ensure proper working condition Maintain spray booths and associated equipment to ensure proper working condition Ensure all paint related waste is properly labeled and disposed of and equipment is cleaned and in good working order Ensure job meets all requirements before leaving work center Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of painting tasks as needed Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation Document actions by completing production and quality forms Communicate effectively with others at various levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Has a High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
  • Is able to safely use small hand and power tools
  • Is able to safety use spray paint and operate paint equipment
  • Has basic computer skills
  • Is able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English
  • Work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles
  • Frequencies - Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
  • Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis floor to waist with assistance
  • Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis floor to waist
  • Carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
  • Push/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Push/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with assistance
  • Standing continuous
  • Walking continuous
  • Bending/stooping frequent
  • Squatting/kneeling frequent
