This job description outlines the responsibilities and duties of the Painter / Blaster I position. The primary goal is to ensure the employee succeeds by performing high-quality, efficient, and effective painting of products within the established chain of command. In addition to painting tasks, the Painter I may be assigned other duties when painting work is not available. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Painter / Blaster I at Vital Link, Inc., which specializes in the fabrication of structural steel for commercial, industrial, and military applications, as well as acoustical and sound suppression products, is responsible for ensuring that all assemblies are properly finished, including painting and galvanizing, before shipment. This role requires experience and knowledge in operating air and airless spray painting equipment, understanding and implementing paint manufacturers instructions and MSDS sheets, and effectively sequencing work. Additionally, the position involves safely moving and setting up heavy materials by hand, with overhead cranes, and using forklifts.
