About The Position

The Painter position is responsible for painting manufactured products, including lighting products and custom vehicle accessories. The role involves setting up and maintaining paint line equipment, reading work orders, and following production drawings or verbal instructions to paint products. The Painter will also check parts for inventory counts, prepare part surfaces before painting, and monitor paint flow to ensure coating and color conform to specifications. This position requires moderate interaction with supervisors and co-workers and may involve substituting in the assembly department when the paint line is not operational.

Requirements

• Must have High School Diploma and GED
• Employee must regularly be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Able to occasionally move up to 100 lbs
• Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing

Responsibilities

• Paints manufactured products including lighting products and custom vehicle accessories
• Sets-up and maintains paint line equipment
• Reads work orders, follows production drawings, sample assemblies or verbal orders to paint products
• Receives verbal instruction on priority of orders
• Sets up daily work according to paint production schedule, priority, or verbal instructions
• Checks parts for inventory counts
• Checks and prepares part surfaces before painting
• Hangs parts for optimal use of paint booth space
• Watches material in process on paint line to monitor paint flow to assure coating and color conform to specifications
• Pulls and stacks painted parts and puts parts into inventory at specified locations
• Checks and cleans machinery and surfaces
• Substitutes in assembly department when Paintline is not operational
• No supervisory responsibility, support co-workers in non-routine applications
• Assists with special projects as assigned by supervisor
