Paint / Weld Supervisor - 2nd Shift - The Toro Company
About The Position
The Paint and Weld Supervisor is characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes, in a limited area of the operations. Supervisor I, Operations, is a pivotal role expected to steer our operations towards excellence. Responsible for overseeing a range of critical functions, this position ensures strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role demands a leader who can effectively manage people and processes, driving team performance and business results through inspirational leadership and effective communication.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or /GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required, 3-5 years preferred.
- Basic understanding of the supervisory principles to include problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Effective verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient software application skills; preferred Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Kronos, Workday.
- Ability to understand and follow safety protocols and regulations.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Ability to meet required goals and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in painting or welding preferred.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Experience in process improvement; LEAN or continuous improvement certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage daily work assignments and schedules to meet productivity and drive business results.
- Monitor production activity, identify process issues, troubleshoot causes, and develop short- and long-term solutions as merited.
- Work closely with site leadership and other supervisors to establish clear processes in alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure adherence to TTC standards, procedures, policies, and government regulations, quality, and compliance.
- Prioritize adherence to safety protocols encouraging a proactive mindset towards safety in daily operations and decision-making.
- Communicate clear expectations, goals, and accomplishments to the team, tying efforts to TTC quality standards, safety protocols, and government regulations.
- Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives by advocating for and implementing where merited the improvements with the team.
- Promote a culture of trust and accountability by demonstrating honesty, integrity, clear communications and ethical behaviors.
- Engage and support team members' development and collaboration toward common goals, while taking ownership of team performance to drive business success.
