About The Position

Railserve is hiring a dependable, safety-focused Paint & Truck Technician in Longview, TX to support locomotive maintenance operations. This is a full-time, hands-on role focused on maintaining, repairing, and painting locomotive components to ensure safe and reliable performance. In this role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing locomotive truck components, as well as preparing and applying paint to locomotive parts and equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability and safety while supporting overall locomotive maintenance operations. If you have a strong mechanical background, experience with industrial painting, and take pride in hands-on work, this role may be a great fit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, painting, or mechanical repair environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment systems
  • Experience with industrial painting processes and equipment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments (noise, grease, weather exposure)
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Inspect locomotive trucks including wheels, axles, bearings, brakes, and suspension systems
  • Perform routine maintenance including lubrication, brake adjustments, and component replacement
  • Identify wear, damage, or mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs
  • Prepare surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding, and masking
  • Mix and apply coatings including primers, enamels, and other finishes
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment such as spray guns and hoses
  • Use proper curing and drying techniques including ovens when required
  • Handle and store chemicals safely in accordance with procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and materials used
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Follow FRA regulations and all company safety procedures
  • Identify and address workplace hazards and risks
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
