We currently have an opening for a Paint Set Up Technician based out of Charlestown, Indiana. This position will report to the Paint Supervisor/Cell Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Rack maintenance/cleaning – repairing racks when tagged and prepare racks for cleaning Ensure that all documentation required is accurate and complete including lot numbers and viscosity when mixing paint Responsible for mask up keep - tag and prepare for repair Ensure Master set up sheets are used and PIR checks are completed. The successful candidate will perform paint kitchen audit – pumps/pressure pots and airlines and promote the efficiency improvement while maintaining the quality levels expected. Responsible to foster and promote continuous improvement efforts and ensure communication and follow up to the next management level Ensure that prior to the arrival of the cell team an inspection of the cell is made and that the previous painters have addressed the discrepancies found Facilitate open and honest communication network including Supervisors and cell team, as well as other employees. Must be able to ensure the safety of all cell members, report unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor and insist of full compliance to safety in the workplace; promote pride of workmanship, urgency, consistency, punctuality and a positive team approach through leadership by example Take aggressive measures towards housekeeping, promote working tidy and organized without creating additional clean up that would adversely affect efficiencies. Must ensure paint preventative maintenance schedule is maintained, ensure paint kitchen is clean and organized at all times. At the completion of the shift, ensure that the paint area is ready for immediate occupancy by the next painter and full productivity can begin without reduction in efficiency or quality. Must be able to monitor paint inventory levels and advise supervisor of low quantities ensure paints are pre-mixed for on-coming shift; ensure all paint equipment is in good working condition and the painters have the proper tools to complete the job; Complete spray outs on all pre-ship paint for quality. Prior to a program change, specific duties and responsibilities should be communicated to each member of the cell team to ensure the smooth transition of programs occur. The successful candidate will possess good written and verbal communication skills and must be able to pass color perception tests. Must also have strong problem solving abilities, be a strong and motivational leader, have excellent motor skills and dexterity. Must have an Understanding of Key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function. The successful candidate must be dedicated and able to work in an organized and efficient manner, and must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
