About The Position

BME Fire Trucks is seeking a skilled fire apparatus paint technician with experience to join our 2nd shift paint team. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. As a Fire Apparatus Paint Technician, you will be responsible for: Mixing and applying body filler Sanding with both longboards and mud-hog sanders Finish sanding primer and caulking seems Grinding Acid washing Prepping for paint process Performing Automotive quality paint application Performing cut & buff work as necessary.

Requirements

  • Understanding of bodywork principles
  • Experience with body filler
  • Experience with block sand
  • Experience with air tools
  • Experience in automotive customization or collision repair work
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Great attitude and high expectations for the quality of your work.
  • Knowledge of body shop materials
  • Physically fit – ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and climb ladders.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Auto Body repair or related area
  • Four years or more years of experience with automotive painting
  • Experience with color sanding and buffing
  • Automotive customization or collision repair work
  • Tools and a roll around tool box
