About The Position

The position involves working from specifications and instructions to prepare and mix powder and other coating materials to match standardized colors, consistencies, and viscosities for spray finish coatings on a variety of parts and products. Responsibilities include checking pressures, adjusting air flow of powder pots, ensuring drying temperatures and conveyor speeds are set correctly, cleaning guns and equipment, loading and unloading parts on a conveyor system, and checking for defects. The role also requires maintaining solution levels, taking samples for prep tank titration, and operating the automated paint system while following safety rules and keeping the work area clean.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and other material handling.
• Ability to use a computer and web-based applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Ability to perform work safely and follow safety policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix powder and other coating materials to match standardized colors, consistencies, and viscosities.
• Check pressures and adjust air flow of powder pots.
• Ensure drying temperatures and conveyor speeds are set according to area to be covered.
• Clean guns, nozzles, and equipment with proper solvents.
• Load and unload parts on conveyor system, checking for defects.
• Check coating finish for proper baking and appearance.
• Place protective material between and around parts in containers.
• Clean and prepare parts for finishing processes.
• Maintain solution levels for high quality finished products.
• Take samples and perform calculations for prep tank titration.
• Operate and maintain the automated paint system.
• Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
