Paint Sales Associate
About The Position
We are seeking a Sales Associate who will also assist with some local deliveries to join our team. You will be working at both locations communicating with customers to help them to identify the right product for their project, tinting paint, putting away stock, loading and unloading deliveries to customer jobsites and warehouses as well as between our 2 locations. The ideal candidate is friendly, a good communicator and is able to remain calm under pressure. We are a family owned and operated business. We believe in taking care of our customers and our team members as we would want our own family to be taken care of. We don't just want an employee, we want a new member of our team. Our customer base ranges from the do-it-yourselfer to the large commercial contractor. We pride ourselves in providing our customers with the right product for their particular job at a competitive price.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Comfortable using computers
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle a physical work load (lifting up to 60 lbs)
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Outgoing personality
- Clean Driving Record
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in Customer Service, Retail Sales or in a similar role is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in store with finding what they need and making recommendations for the right product for their job
- Learn how to use our Point of Sales System
- Learn how to use our Paint Tinting Machines and how to custom tint paint to what a customer wants
- Learn about the different products that we sell and how they are used
- Make sure that showroom shelves are stocked and organized
- Help maintain a clean and healthy work environment
- Break down and check in orders when they arrive from our manufacturers (may involve hand unloading from back of a truck trailer)
- Deliver products to customer locations and between our 2 stores in a safe and timely manner
- Load and unload vehicles
- Make sure what you are delivering is what is supposed to be delivered
- Inspect and monitor delivery vehicle for any signs of wear
- Maintain accurate inventory of packages and materials being delivered
- Show up to work on time and in proper work attire
- Learn about the products that we sell and how they are used
- Learn how to and become proficient at custom matching paint colors
- Learn and become proficient at operating our Point of Sale system
- Treat customers better that you would want to be treated
