The Paint Pump Operator at IMIA, LLC is responsible for operating marine coatings application equipment, specifically Plural and Single Component Airless Paint Pumps. This role requires strict adherence to paint mixing protocols using only approved methods. The operator will participate in the application of coatings using brushes and rollers, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and safety regulations. The position involves maintaining paint pumps as per the manufacturer's instructions and standard operating procedures, as well as following directives from the Foreman and Superintendents on the job site. In addition to equipment operation, the Paint Pump Operator is tasked with routine cleaning of work areas, equipment, and paint storage locations. The operator must monitor environmental parameters related to paint storage, application, and drying times, and assist in creating containment methods to maintain environmental controls. The role also includes ensuring that surfaces are properly prepared for coating and participating in the striping of tank surfaces using approved methods. Compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety protocols is essential, as is the proper handling and disposal of paint and solvent materials. The operator must be knowledgeable in checking wet film mil (WFT) thickness during application and may assist sprayers in pulling lines. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor to ensure the job is completed safely and on time. This position requires a cooperative and productive work ethic, as the operator will work closely with other employees and shipyard personnel.
