Teijin Automotive Technologies is seeking a Paint Process Engineer for our Huntington, Indiana Plant. This role is pivotal in specifying, designing, and implementing robot path programming and paint application processes. The Paint Process Engineer will be responsible for improving the design and process control of the paint department operations, ensuring that all systems are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness. This includes overseeing equipment and control panel upgrades, integrating conveyor control with paint robots, and enhancing data acquisition for production reporting. The engineer will also be tasked with making safety device and logic changes to ensure zoned safety, as well as upgrading networking and communications for reliability. A significant part of the role involves improving Allen Bradley PLC logic to increase uptime and throughput. The engineer will specify, design, implement, and track improvements in robot path programming and the optimization of the manipulator, applicator, and fluid delivery processes. Additionally, the Paint Process Engineer will handle equipment specification and procurement, acting as a liaison between builders, customers, and production for the paint process and fluid delivery. Coordination of trial runs and quality improvements for the paint process will also be a key responsibility, along with implementing cost-reduction improvements for both new and existing equipment and processes. The engineer will provide technical support to all production and engineering operations for improvement programs, ensuring that the paint department operates at peak efficiency.
