About The Position

The Paint Preparation is responsible for sanding, grinding, and occasional blasting of power distribution equipment to ensure proper painting and finishing. Duties include precise taping and masking, transporting and staging units.

Requirements

• Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
• Hardworking.
• Physical ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs force frequently.
• Comfortable working in extreme heat and cold.

Responsibilities

• Sanding, grinding, and occasional blasting of power distribution equipment for painting.
• Must be able to apply tape and masking in a manner that allows for the product to be properly painted without leaving bare spots on the finished product.
• Transport and stage units for surface preparation.
• Assist in labeling and final preparation of units as needed.
• Must maintain a level of quality that ensures a less than 1.5% reject rate. This includes the quality of the prep work which includes proper sanding by machine or hand, and proper taping/masking.
