About The Position

The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for safely preparing aircraft parts including but not limited to mixing of paint, masking, sanding, cleaning, tracking. The Paint Prep Technician works under minimal supervision according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Paint or Paint Prep preferred
  • Proficiency in use of hand tools and paint prep processing equipment (e.g., DA orbital sander, sanding block)
  • Ability to prep areas for paint with minimal rework 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain techniques, time requirements and quality standards on a consistent ongoing basis
  • Ability to work with/around fiberglass, resins, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all paint preparation processes including masking, sanding, and surface preparation/cleaning
  • Track jobs and complete livery layout, maintenance marking application, and final detailing
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with industry standards 
  • Manage time and workflow through personal work area with direction
  • Maintain a safe, organized and FOD-free work area with a focus on lean principles as instructed
  • Work with or in the presence of hazardous chemicals, resins, and fiberglass as required (PPE provided)
  • Other duties as assigned
