About The Position

The Paint Lead will have direct responsibility for the Paint Line at Greenville, AL facility. This position will report to the Plant Manager and safely lead the paint lines’ daily operations. This position will ensure on-time, safe distribution of the paint products to exceed our customer’s expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience operating a sit-down forklift.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to sustain a quick pace picking up buckets from platform to chest height and dumping liquid out of them (5 to 8 buckets) in 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Ability to turn, grab, lift and cut open 20 to 40 (50 lb. bags) in 5 - 8 minutes, 7 - 10 times a day in Cut-In.
  • Ability to perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, dusting, and pushing broom or squegging water or spills at any time in the plant for 10 to 20 minute intervals as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of the company to achieve results.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safety, process and systems improvements.
  • Willingness to work 40-60 hours a week, including Saturdays, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the efficient hands-on process regarding daily paint production.
  • Flourish in an environment where the pace is fast, and the expectations are high.
  • Work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize for business impact.
  • Responsible for all the SAP production, relabel, planning, lot numbers, labels.
  • Understand and execute production including color mixes, batch tickets, PLC programming screens, blend tanks, totes, stacking, forklift operations, packaging, shipping and receiving.
  • Operate respective machinery according to the operation manual, best practices and directions provided.
  • Execute proper settings, calibrations, troubleshooting, maintenance, quality and production output of the equipment.
  • Assist with pulling respective samples from each mix for lab testing.
  • Enter production data into the computer systems.
  • Operate vibrating machinery.
  • Coordinate department activities through instructions from the Plant Manager to ensure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in correct and timely manner.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the department expectations.
  • Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by the Plant Manager.
