About The Position

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Paint/Color Mixer is responsible for accurately matching, mixing, and preparing paints and specialty coatings for Aerospace General Aviation customers in a warehouse environment. This role requires prior paint mixing experience and a strong ability to ensure color precision, maintain formula documentation, and support quality standards by troubleshooting finish issues and minimizing mixing errors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to distinguish subtle color variations, and committed to delivering high-quality results while working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Requirements

  • Must have prior paint mixing experience
  • Must have acceptable driving record from State Motor Vehicle Bureau.
  • Employee must be licensed and able to operate vehicle in accordance with state law including commercial driver's license if required.
  • Work all scheduled hours as needed.
  • All training is considered "On the job" training to meet our quality standards. Must have ability to understand paint pigment variations/characteristics, tinting, and application processes.
  • Employee is required to lift and carry approximately 25 – 50 lbs. frequently and 75 – 100 lbs. on occasion. The employee will spend approximately 20% of the time sitting, 60% standing, 10% walking, 10% stooping, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Paint Mixers must be able to perceive color differences and wear safety equipment as required.
  • Must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors.
  • Must be able to operate lift truck and hand truck.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and matching color samples or shades using aerospace products.
  • Manage and maintain documentation of formulas, a standard set of samples, and coordinated materials to assure quality and color accuracy.
  • Resolve finish problems along with demonstrated product knowledge.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
  • Prepare paint orders, including mixing, utilizing standard formulas and custom formulas.
  • Clean and maintain all areas and equipment as assigned. Ensure calibration of mixing equipment as needed.
  • Conduct self in professional manner to ensure customers’ quality and service expectations are met.
  • Perform paint mixing and/or shading with utmost care to ensure minimum mis-tints.
  • Maintain Color Room records including non-conformance report, tint usage, can usage, mis-tints, etc. and perform necessary inventory transfers.
  • Know and perform duties of other store personnel as assigned.
  • Assist with inside customer service, as needed, including servicing customers and/or processing their orders.
  • Properly dispose of waste cans and product in compliance within compliance with Company and Governmental regulations.
  • Assist staff with periodic or annual branch/satellite inventories.
  • All other duties as assigned.
