About The Position

Forest River, Inc., the Nation's largest manufacturer of Recreational Vehicles, Cargo Trailers, Transit Buses, and Boats, is seeking a dedicated Paint/Body Worker to join our team at the South Hutchinson, Kansas location. This position is crucial for ensuring that our vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the preparation and finishing of painted vehicles, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Paint/Body Worker, you will be involved in the entire process of preparing vehicles for painting. This includes prepping, sanding, and buffing painted surfaces, as well as taping and masking off non-painted areas to ensure clean lines and a professional finish. You will also be responsible for sealing body seams with epoxy seam sealer, grinding and filling welds, dents, and gouges with body filler, and sanding these areas to achieve a smooth finish. Your attention to detail will be essential as you sand and shape body filler around transitions or body lines, ensuring that the final product meets our high standards. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be required to spray primer on all areas where body filler has been applied, wipe down surfaces with grease and wax remover, and sand down painted surfaces to remove any imperfections such as orange peel texture. Operating a buffer to achieve a proper finish will also be part of your role. Safety is a priority, and you may be required to climb on vehicles and wear fall protection gear. Maintaining a clean and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards is essential to ensure a productive work environment.
