About The Position

The Paint & Blast Specialist at Precision Equipment Manufacturing LLC is responsible for preparing metal and other surfaces for painting and applying various types of coatings using spray guns and other painting equipment. This role requires skilled work in surface preparation, application of primers and finish coats, and maintenance of painting equipment, ensuring high-quality results in a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of painting processes, techniques, and materials.
• Knowledge of proper methods for preparing equipment for painting.
• Knowledge of care for spray guns and painting equipment.
• General knowledge of safety precautions in the trade.
• Skill in using spray guns and other painting equipment.
• Ability to mix and match paints.
• Ability to prepare different surfaces for painting.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
• Agility and coordination for climbing, kneeling, and balancing under precarious conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Removes accessories and masks areas not to be painted.
• Cleans, sands, and prepares surfaces for painting.
• Applies primer and finish coats to various types of equipment using lacquers and synthetic paints.
• Applies decals, pressure-sensitive numbers, letters, seals, and trim.
• May paint safety lines and automotive accessories.
• Performs body work to prepare equipment for painting.
• Works with potentially toxic materials and wears protective equipment as required.
• Mixes and matches paint, and polishes finish coats as needed.
• Cleans and maintains spray guns and other painting equipment.
• Keeps time and work records.
• May be assigned to other duties for training or emergencies.
